What is the difference between a gaming PC and a regular PC?
A regular PC is designed to deliver acceptable performance in a variety of tasks, whether that’s browsing the internet, creating office documents or even moderate content creation tasks like Photoshop, Premiere Pro or Adobe Illustrator.
A gaming PC on the other hand is designed to deliver high-performance in gaming. As a result, they tend to have more premium components, with particular focus on modern graphics cards, high-speed memory and storage and powerful processors, as well as high-end cooling. Aesthetically, they typically lean towards larger cases, RGB and premium case materials like Stainless Steel and Tempered Glass. Is it better to buy a gaming PC or a Gaming Console?
Console is a dirty word around these parts! But the honest answer is, it depends on what you’re after. A gaming PC that is equivalent to a current gen console is likely to cost you more initially but can save you money in the long run when it comes to buying games. PC gaming also gives you access to the game mods community, and gives you a route to upgrading, rather than having to buy a complete new system every few years, plus a gaming PC from three or four years ago is likely still going to be able to play new games as they come out.

How much does a gaming PC cost?
This really depends on what you want out of your gaming PC. Most entry-level systems are going to start at around £500 and will be great for new gamers and indie-game lovers. As your requirements start to scale up, you’ll need more advanced components and so the price will start to scale accordingly. A budget of between £1,000 - £2,000 is going to get you a really solid gaming rig that will handle modern gaming and give you plenty of options for future upgrades, should you need to go more advanced in the future. Once you start to get over £2,000, you’re getting into top-level performance territory. At this kind of budget you’re starting to look at the latest and greatest components, advanced cooling and all the nice-to-have’s. Do I have to build my own gaming PC?
No, you don’t have to. We have a vast range of ready-made and tested gaming PCs that you can select, which have been configured by our expert team who build systems for a living. Customised builds are for gamers that have specific gaming rigs in mind. If you want to configure your own system, but you’re not sure where to start or just want some advice, our team are always on hand to help!
Is it hard to build a gaming PC?
It depends on your experience. We try to simplify the process as much as possible. If it’s your first time, it might take two to three hours. But as you get used to it, it will take less time. Things like cable management and clean looking builds come with practice. Our motherboard bundles are a great place to start if you’re looking to go down this route.
Is it better to configure your own gaming PC?
Whether you configure your own gaming PC or buy a ready-made option, you are always assured of the best quality from Fierce PC. However, building your own PC allows you to tailor the PC more specifically to your budget and your needs.
How long will it take to get my gaming PC?
Our next day systems are typically in stock and ready to dispatch, so, as long as we received your order by 2pm, your new system should be dispatched before the end of the following working day. If you ordered by 2pm (On a Monday, for example), your system would be dispatched on Tuesday and with you by Wednesday. If you order by 2pm on a Friday, your system will be with you before the end of the day, the following Tuesday.
We aim to dispatch express systems within 3-5 working days. When we dispatch an item, it is sent as next working day delivery. Your system will still go through the same rigorous testing stages as if you placed a normal order - we work quickly but we don't cut any corners!
We aim to build, test and dispatch all systems within 10-15 working days. This is an estimated dispatch time, which can change without notice. If for any reason your order is going to take longer than usual, our customer service team will endeavour to inform you at the earliest possible convenience - and please rest assured, if we do sometimes need a little more time, its because we want your system to be perfect. Please also note that we work to working day estimates, so not including weekends, and our dispatch estimate is not your delivery date. We dispatch on next working day delivery, so if your system is dispatched on the 10th working day, it will arrive with you on the 11th working day.
What is happening in those 10-15 days?
Building your PC is our passion, and our process.
Once your order is placed, it is in safe hands and will go through several stages before it arrives with you, ready to take your gaming to the next level. The various stages your system may go through include;
Awaiting stock: Unless it's a next day system, we build each PC to order. In rare occasions, we may need to wait for stock to arrive before we can start your build, but the majority of the time we can get all components by the next day.
In picking: Our warehouse team have got your wishlist of parts and they are busy grabbing everything off the shelves to hand-over to our expert builders.
Picked: All your parts are sat next to a builder’s bench, ready for the builder to get started as soon as they can.
In building: It's happening! Our expert team are busy putting your dream system together. We've been building custom PC systems for over 30 years, so you know yours is in great hands!
In testing: Making sure your system works as expected when it arrives with you is our number one priority, which is why we put all our systems through rigorous testing before we send them out of the door. It takes time, but we think it's the most important step.
In packing: We'd hate to have gone through all this just for your system to arrive with you, damaged in transit, which is why our packing team take extra time to fill your chassis with an inflatable foam bag to prevent any movement during dispatch (make sure to remove this when your PC arrives!). Your PC will be padded and carefully packed, ready to hand over to the driver.
Awaiting collection: Getting close now! Your PC is built, tested and packed and now we just need the courier to come and collect it.
Dispatched: Your new gaming PC is on its way to you and should be delivered by the next working day. Clear a space on your gaming desk, dust off your keyboard and mouse and remember to remove the internal packaging when your system arrives! You'd be surprised how many people turn their new system on with the packing material still inside.
Do you ship to countries outside the UK?
Currently we only ship to the UK, including Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey
Do the PCs have a warranty cover?
Yes, all gaming PCs come with a warranty. The length of the warranty is 3 years labour, 2 years parts, 1 year collection by default, but you can purchase up to a five year warranty. More information can be found in our warranty.
Are the PCs tested?
Yes, all our PCs including the self-builds are fully tested before shipping to guarantee smooth operation and set up when they arrive.

Honestly, there is no ‘best’ PC, but there is a best PC for you. Depending on what you use your system for, what games you play, if you want to stream or create, if you play at 1080p, 1440p, 4k or beyond, whether you love RGB, prefer sleek and minimal, or love a bold ‘all-white’ system. How long does a gaming PC last?
The main factor affecting the longevity of your rig (not withstanding hardware failures!) is going to be advancements in technology. Over time, the minimum requirement to play the latest AAA games will change and technologies may become obsolete. Platform changes may start to limit your options for upgrades, if your motherboard can’t support latest gen RAM or CPUs. For the most part, we’d expect at least five years out of a gaming PC, and that’s before you start to swap out and upgrade components. Keep your hardware clean and keep your software up-to-date and your system will continue to perform for a good, long while.
Will my PC handle modern AAA games?
Yes! We offer a range of configurations to suit multiple budgets and play styles. If you play at 1080p Medium or 4k Ultra, Fierce Gaming PCs are designed to deliver immersive, game changing performance and reliability.
What is included with a Fierce PC Gaming PC?
Unless configured otherwise, every Fierce PC gaming PC arrives ready to plug and play. We pre-install Windows 11 and ensure that essential drivers are configured correctly. Your accessory box should include a power cable, any component accessories (if included) and any WiFi antenna if required.
If you have ordered a bundle or any peripherals, they will also be included with your system.
Should I buy a pre-built gaming PC?
We have a wide range of pre-built gaming PCs that cover any budget and any requirement.
