You can make life so much easier for you with some mean gun upgrades. The only problem is, you need to know the safe codes in the Resident Evil 2 game. It’s not an easy task and you could be running around in circles trying to find them.

How about you save yourself some time and make the most out of what the different locks in the game have to offer with our handy list of Resident Evil 2 safe codes.

Police station west office safe code

You will probably stumble on this safe code first as you play through the game. It’s set up in one of the starting rooms.

There’s an office titled “West Office” on the west side of the police station. Inside the room, the safe is tucked cosily into a corner. Before you get excited about finding your first safe, watch out for the lethargic zombie hovering against the walls.

If you prefer to find the code to the safe the old fashion way, head up to the second floor inside the police station and locate the S.T.A.R.S office. The code should be scribbled on a post-it note in the internal memo and left on one of the desks.

Or, you could simply use this safe code and save yourself the trouble:

Safe code: 9 left, 15 right, 7 left

The safe will swing open and reward you with a hip pouch. It will boost your inventory space, which is a valuable boost as you will find out as you go up the levels.

Police station waiting room safe code

The east side of the police station hosts the next safe. The safe is in the waiting room of the second floor hidden behind the desk.

Unlike the west side, there are no real threats in this room. But, be cautious and make sure the tyrant isn’t tagging along before you decide to pick the safe.

The combination for the safe is on the first floor inside the observation room of the building. It's scribbled onto another internal RPD document and placed on a side table.

Instead of going down the staircase and risking any zombies you might have missed, just use the code below and grab your reward.

Safe code: 6 left, 2 right, 11 left

The safe has a muzzle brake for Leon’s pistol and a high capacity magazine for Claire’s JMB HP3 firearm.

Sewer treatment pool room safe code

For the last safe, you will have to wait until you make an entrance to the dirty depth of the sewers. Once you’re there, find your way to the monitor room with the chess piece plug puzzle. The room has only one exit door. Take it and head to the cross-bridge. You will find another safe in plain view in the treatment pool room.

On the right-hand side of the unit, the combination for the unit is etched out in chalk. It's not as hard to find as the other combination.

Safe code; 2 left, 12 right, 8 left

Once the door swings open you can Leon can pick up with the shotgun stock for the W-870 and Claire’s SLS60 gets a reinforced frame.

Pocket Safes

The Safety Deposit Room in the RPD is full of useful resources. But, not all of them can be accessed at first. You have to go through the pesky sealed lockers and you will also need to the two replacement keypad keys.

The keys are in pocket safes littered around the police station. Opening the pocket safe is simple. All you have to do is insert the right button pattern. You might have to try a few times before you’re successful so don’t give up if the first time isn’t a charm.

Shower Room

There's a high chance you will stumble on the pocket safe in the shower room first. It's on the second floor of the police station. As soon as you enter the room, take a right and you will see it sitting on top of a shelf behind some lockers.

Linen Room

The linen room is home to second pocket safe. It won’t be able to open the room without the diamond key. If you don’t have the key already, you have to go on with the story until you find it. Unfortunately, there’s no shortcut to that one yet.

As with any safe, the safes in the Resident Evil 2 hold plenty of goodies. Finding the codes for each of the safes is not easy and you might have to run some risks. But with the codes featured herein, you don't have to worry about going down or up the floor to hunt the code unless you prefer going for the hard way of course.
