CHOOSING YOUR THE SIMS 4 PC
While The Sims 4 base game is over a decade old and can run on modest hardware, modern expansion packs, game updates, and custom content (CC) make choosing the right PC important.
Some of the parts that you should prioritise when building your The Sims 4 Gaming PC include:
PROCESSOR
For playing The Sims 4, having a good PC processor can enhance your gaming experience, but the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements are quite accommodating.

GRAPHICS
Whilst the game can be ran using integrated graphics, a good PC graphics card is important if you want to enjoy the game with higher graphics settings and smoother performance.
Having a graphics card that meets or exceeds the recommended requirements will ensure a better gaming experience, allowing for higher resolution, better frame rates, and improved visual effects.
If you’re planning to use custom content or expansions, a stronger graphics card will help manage the additional load. Remember, the more powerful the graphics card, the more detailed and smoother your game will be.
RAM
For The Sims 4, the recommended amount of RAM is 8GB. This should be sufficient for most players and will allow you to enjoy the game with a good level of performance, even with some custom content and expansions.
However, if you are a heavy user who plans to run the game with many expansions, lots of custom content, or alongside other demanding applications, then 16GB of RAM could provide a more seamless experience. It’s not necessary to go as high as 32GB for The Sims 4 alone, but if you’re using your PC for other high-end tasks like video editing or 3D rendering, then 32GB might be beneficial for those purposes.

STORAGE
An SSD (Solid State Drive) is not a requirement for playing The Sims 4, but it can significantly improve your gaming experience. While the official system requirements do not list an SSD as necessary1, having one can greatly reduce loading times and save times.
SSDs have much faster read and write speeds, which significantly reduce loading times for games, including Assassin’s Creed titles. SSDs can also improve overall system responsiveness and offer smoother performance during gameplay. They can reduce stuttering and texture pop-in issues, especially in open-world games like Assassin’s Creed.
If you’re considering an SSD for The Sims 4, a 500GB SSD should be more than sufficient to hold the game along with all expansions, saves, mods, and custom content. If you plan to play other games or use the PC for other storage-intensive tasks, a 1TB SSD might be a better option.
