CHOOSING YOUR GEARS OF WAR: E-DAY PC
Gears of War: E-Day is built on Unreal Engine 5 with native DirectX 12 integration, making it one of the most demanding releases to date. Selecting the right gaming PC requires paying close attention to specific hardware features.
Some of the parts that you should prioritise when building your Gears of War E-Day Gaming PC include:
UE5 handles dense environments, destructive physics, and heavy AI scripting, putting significant load on the processor.
Minimum: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-10400.
Recommended: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 / Intel Core i5-11600K.
Ideal for High-Refresh & 4K: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (3D V-Cache greatly smooths out frametime spikes in UE5 titles) or Intel Core i7-14700K.
Unlike most games where Ray Tracing is optional, The Coalition strictly requires a hardware Ray Tracing-capable GPU to run E-Day. Older cards lacking dedicated Ray Tracing hardware (like the GTX 10 or 16 series) are not supported.
Targeting 1080p (60 FPS): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / RTX 5050, AMD Radeon RX 6600, or Intel Arc A580.
Targeting 1440p (60+ FPS): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti / RTX 5060, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.
Targeting 4K (60+ FPS / Max Settings): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT or higher.
Upscaling Support: Look for GPUs that leverage AI upscalers like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, or Intel XeSS, which are crucial for maintaining steady framerates alongside Unreal Engine 5's heavy lighting pipelines.
While the minimum requirement is 12GB and recommended is 16GB, 16GB is the baseline for gaming without background apps open. For smoother frametimes and future-proofing in modern Unreal Engine 5 titles, 32GB of DDR4 or DDR5 RAM is the ideal target.
Gears of War E-Day requires 115 GB to 130 GB of free SSD space. Mechanical Hard Drives (HDDs) are not supported and will lead to heavy stuttering, missing textures, and visual hitches during asset streaming. Opt for a PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.
